Sant Pau's Hospital

TThe main entrance to Hospital Sant Pau is through the administration block. This building has two diagonal wings that seem to me like welcoming, outstretched arms for all who visit. Once   we pass through this area to the main hospital complex, we are confronted by a series of domed pavillions, colourfully tiled and with a strong orientalist influence. Centrally   placed is the surgical block where a pair of rooftop angels stand guard with outstretghed arms, echoeing the welcoming gesture of the administration block. In   my painting the surgical block is not shown and a guardian angel floats inside a cloud of charity and devotion. Hospital   San Pau must be one of the most joyful and curative environments ever conceived for a hospital.
