Step into the whimsical world of Antoni Gaudí with this Park Güell art print, inspired by my visits to Barcelona in the 1980s. Among all the city’s landmarks, Park Güell was one of my favourite places to wander. I was captivated by the fairy-tale houses that frame the park’s main entrance, their colorful tilework and organic shapes straight out of a dream.

In those days, I often sat opposite them in the cool shade of the grotto — an artificial cave originally designed as a shelter for arriving motor cars. In this painting, you’ll find me there again, quietly taking in the scene.

This artwork is a fantasy composition painted in a realistic style, blending all the essential elements of Gaudí’s Park Güell into a single dreamed recollection. The final piece took ten months of dedicated work after I designed the basic composition, ensuring every detail reflects the magic and spirit of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
